Deep Cut
Deep Cut is a co-op dice-and-stone roguelite for one to four players. You play as a lapidary with a bottomless mine under your workshop. Choose your loadout of skill gems and dice, fight through harder and harder enemies as you dig deeper to find better rewards. Decide whether to take the lifts home or risk it all to venture deeper.
How a turn works
Everyone rolls five dice, rerolls twice and locks in. Then, different skill gems activate based on the hand you kept: a pair, a straight, a full house, etc. Every gem that fires builds Resonance, improving the power of your character's unique Birthstone at the end of the rail. One the player turns are done, the creatures attack back with dice rolls of their own. Defeat the monsters to continue further down the mines.
The 4 C’s of Gemstones
- Color determines what a stone does: red damage, blue guard, green sustain, violet control, gold fortune, white affects your hand itself.
- Carat multiplies the strength of the skills. Bigger Carat = stronger effects.
- Cut affects how often the gems can fire. The better a gem's cut, the easier it is to activate.
- Clarity gives each gem unique traits. Flawless gems provide more resonance and gain unique extra abilities. On the other end of the spectrum, gems can also carry various "inclusions" which can be both beneficial and detrimental.
Every gem you find in the mines takes on a unique combination of each of the 4 C's. The deeper you go, the better your odds of finding a larger stone, a flawless stone, or a perfectly cut stone.
